Jacob Paul Neuman, 30, formerly of Sheridan, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in Bozeman, Montana from a fire in an apartment complex.

Jake was born on January 1, 1981, in Sheridan, Wyoming, to Robert Neuman and Melodie Reed. He was raised in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1999.

Jake attended Western Culinary Institute in Portland, OR to pursue a career as a chef and graduated in 2001. He relocated to Bozeman to begin his career. His passion for cooking was evident in all aspects of his life. He thrived on creating unique dishes for the restaurants he worked in and his family. At the time of his passing he was Sous-Chef at the Bacchus Pub.

Jake took up fly fishing with support of his friends, and became an avid fly fisherman, tying his own flies creating many of his own unique patterns. He spent most of his spare time fishing and when weather didn’t permit, he tied flies.

He loved attending live concerts especially Wide Spread Panic.

Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill Neuman, of Rawlins, WY, Albert and Jean Reed, Sheridan, WY, and his Uncle Bill Neuman, of Sheridan.

He is survived by his parents, Robert (Meg) Neuman, of Sheridan, WY, Melodie (Pete) Reed of Casper, WY, grandparents, Frank and Bobbie Erickson, Muddy Gap, WY, Patricia Neuman, Modesto, CA, siblings, Patrick (Amanda) Neuman of Casper, Nick Neuman of Sheridan, Ryan Feaster, Denver, CO, Tyler Feaster Sheridan, WY, and Stephanie (Chris) Tellez of Sheridan. Aunts: Jeanine Dean, Mary Said, Mindy Hixon. Pam Thomas. Uncles: Fred Neuman, Don Neuman, Robert Erickson, Kirk Reed. Nieces: Annie and Abbie Neuman, Mallarie, Presley, and Ali Tellez. In addition are many, many family and friends too numerous to mention.

A Memorial Service for Jake will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Kane Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Jones officiating.
