SHERIDAN -- The funeral for former Sheridan resident James "Matt" Davis, 28, of Bellingham, Wash., will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 3, at Champion-Ferries Funeral Home in Sheridan by the Rev. Stephen Anderson. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

He died Jan. 27, 2006, in Bellingham, from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Born July 15, 1977, in Sheridan, he was the son of Mary (Womack) and Tommy Davis; was raised and educated there; and graduated in 1995.

He moved to Seattle and worked as a carpenter in the construction industry; and, later, moved to Bellingham. At the time of his death, he was employed by Walker Construction.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Sheridan. An avid snowboarder, he enjoyed skate-boarding and working with electronics. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending all of his spare time with his 5-year-old son, Drew Aidan Davis; they especially liked playing video games.

Survivors include his parents of Seattle; his son of Bellingham; his fiancee, LaDonna Owens of Bellingham; three brothers, Terry, Larry and Roger Davis of Sheridan; an aunt; two uncles; a niece; a nephew; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
