OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - November 7, 2001

Scott Jason Baertsch, age 25, of Belleview, Florida, died at his home on November 1, 2001.

A vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Chapel in Beach, North Dakota.  The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at the Community Center in Medora, North Dakota at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2001, with Rev. Fr. Tom Richter officiating.  Our Scott, Scotty, El Scott-o and Scoot will be buried in the Medora Cemetery in Medora, North Dakota, near the ranch that held some of his fondest memories.  Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach, North Dakota is entrusted with arrangements.

Our beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin and Friend was born on June 10, 1976, the son of Steve and Connie (Volin) Baertsch, in Rapid City, South Dakota.  At the age of two, he moved with his parents to Sheridan, Wyoming where he received his education, graduating from Sheridan High School in 1994.  He spent a year at Black Hills State College before moving to Florida in 1996.  Scott was an accomplished cook and hoped to pursue a chefs degree.  One of his great loves was football, both as a participant and eager fan.  He played center for the Sheridan Broncs on the 1993 State Championship team.  He was honored to be named to the Super 25 by the Casper Star Tribune along with being an All-State Choice.

Scott is survived by his parents, a brother, Dustin Baertsch and a large loving family that he was so proud of, they include; his grandparents; Don and Donna Baertsch and Charles and Peggy Volin; his Aunts and Uncles; Lynda and Nick Reed, Dixie and Dave Hunsaker, Mike and Sher Baertsch, Pat and Herb Giorgio, Dee Ann Baertsch and Wally Owen, Chuck Volin, Leo and Tina Volin and Sandy Baertsch; his cousins, Jody Gehman, Wade Baersch, Chad Baertsch, Josh Hunsaker, Amanda Hunsaker, Herb Giorgio Jr, Matt Giorgio, Samantha Volin, Chase Volin, Shawn Volin, Chaz Volin, Jake Volin, Chelsey Volin and his great-grandmother Jean Elmore.
