SHERIDAN  -- Funeral services for former Sheridan resident Lars Robert Hanson, 27, of Kemmerer, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Champion-Ferries Funeral Home in Sheridan by Pastor Doug Melius.  Interment will be in the Sheridan Municpal Cemetery.

He died Dec. 14, 2002, in Kemmerer.

Born March 17, 1975, in Joliet, Ill., he was the son of Lawrence and Susan (Plumb) Hanson; and moved to Sheridan at age 3.  He was raised and educated in Sheridan and graduated from high school there.

He worked for N.A. Nelson Construction until 1997, when he went to work for The Industrial Co. (TIC), doing industrial construction in several states.

His interests included NASCAR racing, skiing, going to the mountains, and little children.

Survivors include his companion, Danita Sperle, and their daughter, Shayla, of Kemmerer; father and stepmother; Larry and Heather Hanson of New Protland, Maine; mother and stepfather, Susan and Ken Smith of Sheridan; brother, Mike Smith, and four sisters, Kristin Simkins, April Phillips, Leah Hanson and Amy Smith, all of Sheridan; grandparents, Vern and Dorothy Hanson of Romeoville, Ill.; two nieces; and two nephews.
