Kelly Ryan MURPHY 1972 - 2014 SHS 1990

Former Sheridan resident, Kelly Ryan Murphy, 42, left our world on August 13, 2014, in Dallas, Texas.

Kelly was born on February 3, 1972, in Laramie, Wyoming, to Blaine Murphy and Roxy (Kukuchka) Novotny. He grew up in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1990. He attended the University of Wyoming, earning his art degree in graphic design in 1995.

Kelly enjoyed a rewarding and successful career as a graphic artist and creative director. He had a remarkable eye for design and was a very expressive writer.

His career took him on many adventures and he won several national awards for his creative talent. Kelly loved riding his motorcycle, going on cruises, and making memories with his friends.

Kelly is survived by his parents Blaine Murphy and Cassie Sundberg of Sheridan; Roxy and Steve Novotny of Fort Collins, Colorado; siblings Shawn Murphy, Stacy (Brad) Bledsoe, Rachel Novotny, and nephew Jaxon Novotny, all of Colorado; step brother Riley (Lauren) Emter of Manhattan, Kansas; grandmothers Pearl Kukuchka and Martha Murphy of Sheridan; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his partner Jim Walker of Dallas, Texas. His grandfathers, Paul Kukuchka and Glenn M. Murphy, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 7th, at 4:00 p.m. at Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ, 5910 Cedar Springs Road, in Dallas, Texas 75235. Cremation has taken place.

Memorials in Kelly's name may be made to Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ in Dallas.

Kelly is now resting on his favorite beach, enjoying the sand, sun, and fun!
