Memorial services will be 10 a.m. May 13 at the Christian Life Center, 2352 E. Highway 193, Layton, Utah. Arrangements are with Leavitts Mortuary.

Mr. Kerbel was born Oct. 27, 1970, in Billings to John Paul and Grace Ann Kerbel. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan and was a 1989 graduate of Sheridan High School, where he was active in football, soccer and gymnastics.

He was a 1991 graduate of Sheridan College, with an Associate of Applied Science degree in law enforcement. He attended continuing education classes at the University of Montana.

He joined the U.S. Army in September 1992. He also worked in a variety of sales positions. He enjoyed sports, fishing and hunting.

Survivors include five half brothers and four half sisters.
