SHERIDAN -- A memorial service for Steven Arthur Engel, 28, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Phil Wold officiating.

Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends at 7 p.m. Friday August 1, 2008, for a prayer service at Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

He was found dead on July 22, 2008, near the Medicine Wheel in the Big Horn Mountains.

He was born August 8, 1968, in Sheridan, to Horace W. “Bill” and Narleen (Dronen) Engel. He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School.

He then attended Sheridan College and graduated from the University of Wyoming.

He worked for Photo Finish for a time, and then went to work for Intermountain Labs as an Environmental Technician.

He transferred with Intermountain Labs to Gillette in 2008.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, shooting, and movies.

He loved dogs, especially his dog, “Kaz.”

He had a special attachment for small children, especially his niece and nephew.

He is survived by his parents, Bill and Narleen Engle of Sheridan; sister, Christine Engel of Greensburg, Pa.; one niece; one nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorials in memory of Steve may be made to the Sheridan Animal Shelter, 84 E. Ridge Rd., or to Trinity Lutheran Church, 135 Crescent Dr., Sheridan, WY 82801
