Richard (Rick) Lee GREEN 1965 - 2018 SHS 1984

Richard (Rick) Lee Green passed away on July 3rd, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

Rick was born on November 07, 1965 to Eldon Green of Sheridan, WY and Ruth Shaffer (Morris) of Buffalo, WY, as the youngest of 3 children, Jaci Green (Hicks), Ray Green.

From an early age sports, particularly baseball, was his passion. He fondly spoke of his sports career through high school at SHS, playing college baseball at Spokane Falls and being drafted to the NY Yankees before venturing to Colorado to work in the NAPA warehouse. It was there he met his long-time wife, Brenda Green (Stewart) and step-daughter, Heather. After moving back to his hometown of Sheridan, and welcoming his only daughter, Rikki Green to the family, Rick worked alongside his stepfather, W.W. Morris and mother, building the local NAPA store before taking over with his step-brother, Scot Morris.

He enjoyed endless rounds of golf at the local courses, playing darts and softball while coaching his daughters softball teams. He enjoyed traveling to swim meets across the state and nation to cheer on the Sheridan teams.

After separating from his wife and his daughter moving to college, Rick moved to Casper and Gillette and continued his sales career with NAPA. In 2012, he moved to Arizona and fulfilled his dream of living in the land of sunshine.

He made deep connections along his path and was most grateful for his family and friends in his life. He was always willing to help someone in need and was known for his kindness.

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth and Stepfather, Willy Morris.

He is survived by his daughter, Rikki Green (Shawn Rogers), grandsons (Jesse, Zander), father Eldon (Helen) Green, sister Jaci, brother Ray (Laurie) Green, stepdaughter Heather Green, step-brother Scot, many cousins, nephews and friends.

Richard requested that no services be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
