OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - August 16, 2002

BUFFALO - Memorial services and a celebration of the life of Cheyenne resident Samuel Richard "Sam" Miller, 42, will be held by his family and friends at a later date.

He died Aug. 13, 2002, while on a camping and fishing trip near Kaycee.

Born May 25, 1960, in Sheridan, he was the son of C.R. "Sam" amd Donna Miller was raised and educated in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1978.

He then went to work for Shell Oil and worked in seismograph all over the western United States.

On Nov. 25, 2980, he married Beth Branney in Sheridan.

They made their home in Sheridan until moving to Michigan, where he continued with Shell Oil in Bay City and Reed City.  In 1991, the family moved to Cheyenne.  He was an operator for Frontier Refinery Inc.

An avid fly fisherman and devoted family man, he was a member of Oil Chemical Atomic Worker's Union Local No. 8-0574.

Survivors include his wife and three daughters, Amanda, Liza and Morgan, all of Cheyenne; a granddaughter; mother of Sheridan; brother, Mike Miller, and his wife of Sheridan; three sisters and their husbands, Cathy Fried, Cheryl Crook and Theresa Rice, all of Sheridan and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1995.
