Robert Duane GASKELL 1958 - 1977 SHS 1977

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Palmer officiating. Interment is in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Gaskell was killed early Saturday morning in an auto accident four miles west of Soldier Creek.

He was born August 30, 1958 in Sheridan and graduated this spring from Sheridan High School. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sheridan.

Gaskell was named the outstanding junior varsity football player at Sheridan High School as a sophomore and named to the honorable mention all-state football team as a Junior. He qualified twice for the state wrestling tournament and a senior placed fourth at the state tourney in the 167 lb. class.

He qualified three out of four years at the state high school rodeo to go to nationals. As a freshman he represented Wyoming in a rodeo at Torna, Wis. by winning second in calf roping. As a junior he won second in steer wrestling competition in Sulfer, La. and was to have competed in Helena Mont. In August in steer wrestling and team roping.

He is survived by his parents, Bob and Linda Gaskell, Sheridan, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Gaskell, Laramie, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spencer of Dayton.
