Gary A. Roth, 61, was found deceased in his Billings, MT home on September 2, 2019.

He was born October 15, 1957. He was one of three boys for Gary W. and Karen Roth.

Gary was involved in many activities over the years. One of his proudest accomplishments was his time as a catcher for the Sheridan Troopers. He raced snowmobiles starting in the 1970’s, which just progressed into his love for all things racing. He was a member of the Billings Motorcycle Club in the late 80’s and early 90’s. He was instrumental in the construction of the Great-American hill, hauling more cubic feet of dirt than one can imagine. He also did his fair share of climbing the hills, building machines, and spotting for others. He was heavily involved in all aspects of Y.O.R.R. (Yellowstone Off Road Racing) since before its conception, he was one of the first series champs in the UTV class and he wore his “YORR SERIES CHAMPION” sweatshirt with pride at every race event. He was a diehard NASCAR fan, whether he was watching from his recliner or listening via radio. The Bighorn Mountains were his home away from home, he went there every opportunity he could, and knew those mountains like the back of his hand. Some of his most enjoyable times were spent in his garage drinking “Busch Latte’s” with his grandson and his buddies. Many shenanigans were had when they were together.

He is survived by his daughter, Angie Horvath (Mary) of Billings, MT; his parents Gary and Karen Roth of Sheridan, WY; his brothers Jim Roth (Kari Butler) of Sheridan, WY and Mel Roth of Rocksprings, WY; grandchildren Brendan Casteel, Haleigh Casteel, Tierra Price and Kadon Price; step-children Melanie Price and Torrey Price; as well as many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Cindi Marie in 2011. The love he shared with her was special- They enjoyed many fabulous adventures together camping and 4-wheeling. They made each other laugh and he missed her every single day after she died. He said his life was “never the same” after she passed.

If you wish to honor Gary’s life, do so as you wish. Take a ride in the mountains, race a lap in his honor, or simply raise a “cold one” in his memory. Let’s share our memories and remember the Gary we all knew and loved.

No services will be held, as Gary was adamant about “no funeral”. His wish was to be cremated and join his Cindi up in “their spot” in the Bighorns. He truly believed that this was the only way to be at rest. There are many who are stunned by this sudden and tragic loss, it is surreal. If we can all do one thing, it would be to remember him as the person he showed us on the outside, do not let this define him.
