Cpl. Bruce L. Powell, 21, son of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Powell, Sheridan, was killed Friday while attempting to climb a pyramid in Egypt.

Cpl. Powell was serving as a security guard at the American Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

In addition to his parents who reside on Third Avenue in Brundage Addition, he is survived by two sisters, Brenda Powell, Sheridan, and Becky Poulos, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and his grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Clifford Husman, Sheridan.

Champion Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements.
