SHERIDAN -- Memorial services for Jay D. Harris, 49, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at Kane Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Goodwin officiating.

He died Oct. 1, 2007, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 23, 1958, in Gillette, to Philip and Katherine Harris.

He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1976.

He was employed as a draftsman for Kewit.

He loved to fish and hunt, especially bow hunting. He was a member of the 7th Cavalry Drum and Bugle Corps.

Survivors include his mother, Katherine Maasch; his siblings, Mikealena Olson and her husband of Sheridan, Roxanne Schuppe and her husband, Elizabeth Harlson and Jon Harris, all of Billings, Mont., and Patrick Harris and his wife of St. Mary's, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made in his name to an outdoor charity of the donor's choice.

Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
