OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - September 8, 2001

SHERIDAN - Funeral services for Steven M. Badgett, 43, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Sheridan.  The Rev. Joseph Keys will officiate.

Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Masonic No. 43 section.  Military rites will be provided by the Wyoming National Guard and American Legion.

Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Monday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home in Sheridan.

He died Sept. 5, 2001, in the V.A. Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, of cancer.

A Sheridan native, he was born June 7, 1958, to Mark and Carolyn (Barker) Badgett.  He   grew up and graduated from high school in Sheridan.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne.  After living in North Carolina for several years, he returned to Sheridan in 1990.

On Oct. 25, 1990, he married Irene Jackson in Sheridan.

He worked for Guernsey Stone and then at the Holiday Inn until 1999.  He then owned and operated Mountain Manufacturing.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 43, Kalif Shrine, York Rite and the Director's Staff.  He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Irene Badgett of Sheridan; two sons John Badgett of Fayetteville, N.C., and Gabriel Badgett of Sheridan; two daughters Camie and Monica Jackson of Sheridan; his mother, Carolyn Badgett of Sheridan; two sisters Patricia Benskin of Cheyenne and Brenda Rodriguez of Sheridan; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

His father preceded him in death.
