OBITUARIES - THE SHERIDAN PRESS - September 18, 2001

Former Sheridan resident Judith Mary Tappe, 45, of Helena, Mont., died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Montana State Hospital.

Viewing was noon to 5:30 p.m. today at Retz Funeral Home in Helena.

A vigil service will be 7 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Helena.

Funeral Mass will be 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Billings.

Ms. Tappe was born Sept. 30, 1955, to Herman and Leona (Burns) Tappe in Miles City, Mont. She was a 1975 graduate of Sheridan High School.

She married Dana Fox in Billings after graduation, and they moved to Albuquerque before returning to Sheridan.

Ms. Tappe lived in Sheridan the next 20 years, working at Trail's End Restaurant as a cook and operating a commercial and residential janitorial service.

She moved to Helena in 1990.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977; her father; a sister, Carol M. Worden; and a great-nephew.

Survivors include two sons, Max Fox and Dan Fox, both of Helena; her mother of Clinton, Iowa; two brothers, Pat Tappe of Clinton and Michael Tappe of Shakopee, Minn.; six sisters, Barbara Timmerman of Clinton, Katherine Kramer of Valentine, Neb., Ginger Blann of Fulton, Ill., and Kathleen Noel, Jo Gibson and Annie Tappe-Scarff, all of Helena; and four grandchildren.
