SHERIDAN - A celebration of the life of former Sheridan resident Loren Ray Dingis, 49, of Billings, Mont., will be held at a later date.

At his request, cremation has taken place under the direction of Champion-Ferries Funeral Home of Sheridan.

He died Aug. 2, 2004, at Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan.

Born June 21, 1955, in Crawford, Neb., he was the son of Harry G. and Elizabeth M. (Glick) Dingis; was raised and educated in Sheridan; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1974.

He attended technical school in Billings, where he worked for Associated Foods for several years; then was employed by NAPA in Billings until 2003.

A soundman for concerts at the Events Center in Billings, he enjoyed the mountains, hiking, and playing golf.

Survivors include his brother, Gary, of Sheridan; and three sisters and their husbands, Cheryl Onekelet and Diana Oedekoven, both of Sheridan, and Carrie Klare of Dell Rapids, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
