SHERIDAN -- A memorial service for Sheridan resident Colleen Floate, 52, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at Kane Funeral Home in Sheridan by Pastor Scott Lee.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Kane Funeral Home of Sheridan.

She died Jan. 1, 2006, at her home, after battling a long-time illness.

Born Aug. 12, 1953, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Elsie (Careason) and Truman Stiles.

On March 21, 1977, she married Dennis Floate.

She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and spending time with her family, especially her children; and loved attending Special Olympics and Easter Seals events.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years and daughter, Marian Floate, of Sheridan; son, Truman Floate of Gillette; three sisters, Marie Swinyer of Sheridan, Louise Miller of Batavia, Iowa, and Donna Jean Wintermote of Riverton; brother, Donald Stiles of Casper; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
