OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - December 1, 2001

GILLETTE - Funeral services for Gillette resident Michael L. Rubidge, 46, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home by the Rev. Douglas Goodwin.  Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

He died Nov. 29, 2001, at Campbell County Memorial Hospital of complications from leukemia.

He was born March 30, 1955, in Isleworth, Middlesex, England, near London, the son of Leslie and Lilian (Lucas) Rubidge.  When he was 12 years old, he moved to Sheridan and later graduated from Sheridan High School.

On Dec. 26, 1980, he married Mary Jo Hininger in Sheridan.

They moved to Gillette in 1983, where he worked for Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad for 22 years.  He had been an engineer since 1993.

On May 19, 1995, he became an American citizen.

An avid photographer since the age of 7, he loved cars and motorcycles and taking his dogs for walks.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gillette.

Survivors include his wife, son, Sean Rubidge, and daughter, Jennifer Rubidge, all of Gillette; and his mother and sister, Suzy Horsley, both of Sheridan.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1998.
