SHERIDAN -- Memorial services with military honors for Kenneth W. Burgess, 52, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at 1 p.m., at Kane Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.

He died Sept. 8, 2006, at Sheridan VA Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 16, 1953, to William "Bill" and Virginia (Leis) Burgess in Sheridan. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1973 and attended Sheridan College.

He joined the Navy in March 1974 and served until his honorable discharge in 1994.

He married Roberta Galve in San Diego on Feb. 11, 1978.

He enjoyed fishing, especially with his best friend, Jim and his granddaughter.

He was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife of Sheridan, three sons, James Haskell of Sheridan, Joey Haskell of Virginia Beach, Va., and Kenny Burgess Jr., of Sheridan; his mother of Sheridan; two granddaughter and his siblings, Scott Burgess of Wyoming, Mary Hackworth of California, Linda Hildebrandt of Iowa and Jim Burgess of Wyoming and a niece.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in his name to Wheden Cancer Foundation, in care of Tara Keep, First Federal Savings Bank, P.O. Box 6007, Sheridan, 82801.

Kane Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
