SHERIDAN -- Funeral services for Rudolph V. "Rudy" Kawulok, 52, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Jan. 4, 2007, at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with George Tellez officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.

He died Dec. 30, 2006, at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne of cancer.

He was born Feb. 6, 1954, in Sheridan, to Frank and Mary (Josefy) Kawulok Jr.

He attended schools in Worland, Ranchester, Dayton and Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan College.

He was always active in athletics, playing, coaching, sponsoring and officiating.

He married Carol Bulkow in 1980.

They later moved to Gillette as he continued his career in radio broadcasting. He formed and operated his own disco company during the late 1970s and early 1980s. His quick wit and outgoing personality attracted a loyal following for his entertainment.

"Rowdy Rudy" was on duty at radio stations and nightclubs in Wyoming, Nebraska and Indiana for many years. He later turned to the news and marketing sides of the business.

He loved the outdoors, sports of any kind, fishing, his dog, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Vincent, of Cheyenne; brother, Frank, of Sheridan; sister, Billie Rawlings of Sheridan; fiancee, Cheryl Daems of Cheyenne; stepmother, Ellen Kawulok; one granddaughter, nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephew, all of Sheridan.

Memorials may benefit the Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore Ln., Cheyenne, 82009 or a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
