Margaret Fellows GIBSON 1954 - 2014 SHS 1972

Margaret Fellows Gibson, 60, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at her home, with family by her side, after a courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease.

Margaret was born on March 23, 1954 to Edward and Barbara (Moffat) Gibson in Sheridan, Wyoming. She attended school in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1972. After graduation, Margaret attended Sheridan College and then moved to Laramie to attend the University of Wyoming. She graduated from UW in 1976 with a degree in Accounting. Not long after, she began her career at First Federal Savings Bank as an accountant. Through years of dedication and hard work, Margaret eventually became a vice president of the bank, and remained with the bank until her retirement in January 2014. Margaret was extremely devoted to her job and always maintained a high work ethic. Over her 37 years of service, her coworkers became life-long friends and a second family to her.

Margaret, though a private person, undoubtedly lived a well-rounded life. She enjoyed many activities, including cross-country skiing, windsurfing, swimming, walking with her dog, Babs, and travelling. She treasured her time with family and friends and was always concerned with their happiness and well-being. Her unique personality and humor were appreciated by many. She adored her nieces and nephews and made special effort to please them in any way she could. Margaret had strong faith in God and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She will be missed by its many members.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Barbara (Moffat) Gibson.

She is survived by her sister, Jean (Brian) Morgen, aunt, Janet Moffat, nephews; Stephen (Meredith) Groshart, Graham Groshart and niece, Maggie Groshart. She is also survived by her great-niece, Alivia Denzin, great-nephew, Evan Groshart, and cousins; Jean Moffat and Betty Moffat.

Memorial service will be 11:00am on Tuesday, June 3rd from First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Doug Melius officiating. Inurnment will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Memorials may benefit the Sheridan Senior Center or First Presbyterian Church.
