Edward J. KNUDSON 1952 - 2019 SHS 1971

Edward J. Knudson passed away on August 11, 2019, at his home in University Place, Washington, after a 3-year battle with cancer.

He was born in Sheridan, Wyoming, on December 16, 1952 to Carl E. and Mary Josephine (Kouba) Knudson. Ed grew up and attended schools in Sheridan, graduating from Sheridan High School with the class of 1971.

Ed worked at his family’s grocery store, Johnson Grocery, throughout his school years. He then worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 39 years.

Ed married Brenda Bartlett on May 28, 1977 in Sheridan. They were married for 42 wonderful years. Together they had three children Eric, David, and Rachel. When he and Brenda retired, they moved to University Place, Washington, in 2016 to be closer to Rachel and her family. His family was the joy of his life. Ed loved fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family. He and Brenda enjoyed exploring the area of their new home finding wonderful places to walk, eat, and enjoy good movies. He was a devoted Democrat and a strong union supporter. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Andy, and his sister Jean.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, his sons, Eric Knudson of Sheridan and David Knudson of Los Angeles, California, his daughter Rachel Knudson Antolin (Fernando) of Tacoma, Washington, his three grandchildren; Caleb Buhl of Sheridan, and Julian Antolin and Sigrid Antolin of Tacoma, Washington, his brother Pat (Bunnie) of The Villages, Florida, sister-in-law, Pam Davey (Dewey) of Sheridan, sister-in-law, Vicki Bonsall of Bastrop, Louisiana, his cousin, Margaret Gruener of Florida, niece, Amy Smith Ascoli of Missouri, and nephews Mike Smith of Sheridan and Alex Bonsall of Louisiana.

His family is planning to have services in Sheridan at a later date.
