SHERIDAN - Memorial services for Sheridan resident L. Terry Thurber, 52, will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 19, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan by the Revs. Ray Clark and Kevin Jones.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Champion-Ferries Funeral Home of Sheridan. Inurnment will be in St. Peter's Columbarium.

He died Oct. 12, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Interstate 25 near Glenrock.

Born Dec. 23, 1951, in Sheridan, he was the son of Leo and Edith (Moss) Thurber; was raised and educated there; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1970.

He graduated from Boise, Idaho, State University in 1982, with a degree in communications; then was a radio talk-show host in Spokane, Wash., where he was known as Terry Holiday. After returning to Sheridan for a short time, he was in the process of moving to Phoenix at the time of his death, to attend school.

An avid baseball fan, he played American Legion baseball in high school; and, also, enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his mother of Sheridan; daughter, Courtney Thurber of Kingston, N.Y.; brother, Michael Hicks of Phoenix; sister, Susan Beckwith of Sheridan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
