OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - March 08 2006

CASPER -- A funeral for Charles Randall “Randy” Kinskey, 54, will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Casper at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 17 with Father August Koeune officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.

He died March 6, 2006, at University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., after a courageous three-year battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1952, in Portsmouth, Ohio.

With his family, he moved to Sheridan where he graduated from high school in 1970. He was a National Merit Scholar and played quarterback for the Sheridan Broncos.

He attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs, where he excelled academically. He continued to play football, winning honors as a blocking back for the CC Tigers. In his senior year in a crucial game, Coach Carle designed “the Kinskey Offense,” a play that resulted in a stunning upset victory for Colorado College.

While attending Sheridan High School, he worked part-time in the family business, Jersey Creamery, Inc. After college, he again worked for a family business, Mini Mart, Inc. playing a key role guiding the expansion of the business from 10 stores to 116 stores in six states. After the sale of Mini Mart, Inc., he independently consulted as a computer programmer and system designer and other related fields. Before his illness became too debilitating, he managed J’NR Investment LLC in Phoenix.

He enjoyed sports and socialized with his friends and neighbors. During family visits, his many nieces and nephews gravitated affectionately to “Uncle Randy,” who enjoyed their company immensely as well as the ongoing news of their activities.

He is survived by his parents, Jeanne and Rod Kinskey of Casper and Scottsdale and eight brothers and sisters, Robin Worman of Story, David Kinskey of Sheridan, Patty Bachand of Helena, Mont., Amy Brinkerhoff of Missouri City, Texas, Joseph Kinskey of Cedar Falls, Iowa, John Kinskey of Overland Park, Kan., Mary Ridgeway of Casper and James Kinskey of Seattle; 23 nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and nephews and many friends.
