Peggy Edwards STOUT Luoma 1951 - 2011 SHS 1969

On December 21, 2011 Peggy Edwards Luoma went to be with the Lord she loved so much.

She was born on April 11, 1951 in Denver, Colorado. At about a year old her family moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where she grew up with her four sisters. Peggy was an excellent swimmer and won many medals on her swim team. Summers in the Big Horns building the family cabin were something she always remembered with a smile.

In December 1967 she married John Stout. They had two children, Amy M. Stout and Eirik C. Stout.

In March of 1978 she married Brian Luoma. Shortly after, they moved to Shell, Wyoming where Peggy loved to garden, camp, fish and collect unusual rocks in the surrounding mountains. After three years in Shell they moved to the Luoma family ranch in Luther. Peggy worked on and off the ranch using her various skills to help keep the ranch going. She missed the rancher's way of life when it was sold. Peggy was also known as the "Martha Stewart" of the area because she enjoyed giving dinner parties and liked to give Christmas gifts an extra special touch. S he was very involved with the Luther Community Church and always ready to plan an event or lend a helping hand. She has many Brothers and Sisters there.

Peggy was very proud of her children and their accomplishments. In May of 2008 she was blessed with "the light of her life" when Finn Stout was born to Eirik and Kate. She was blessed again with the birth of Leiv Stout in August of 2010. Being with "the boys" made Grandma Peggy light up and she loved them very much.

Peggy is survived by her husband Brian; daughter Amy (Jared Sheffield); son Eirik (Kate); grandsons Finn and Leiv; sisters Carolyn (Loren) Rasmussen, Diane (Ted) Cosner and Lynn (Marty) Sanchez; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Kathy.

A celebration of Peggy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28 at the Luther Community Church.

Memorials may be made to the Luther Community Church or Look Development "for the children of Ethiopia" at 233 Lower Luther Road, Red Lodge, MT 59068.

Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel of Red Lodge is assisting with the arrangements.
