Former Sheridan resident, Larry Lee Lewis, 58, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at St. Charles Hospital in Bend, OR.

Cremation has taken place.

Born September 11, 1951 in Corydon, IA to Willa "Billie" and Eugene W. Lewis of Sheridan, Larry attended Sheridan schools graduating from Sheridan High School in 1969.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and trained at Ft. Bliss, Texas and was assigned to a Hawk Missile Unit. He was honorably discharged on February 7, 1973. Following his discharge he enlisted in the Wyoming National Guard.

Larry married Mary Christine Bond of Sheridan in 1971. They have one son, David Anthony.

The family later moved to Caldwell, ID. Larry attended Boise State University studying Forestry and Range Management.

They later divorced.

He married Linda Hager of Sisters, OR in 1990. They have two sons, James Weston and Kevin Cory Hager.

He was an avid musician and played and sang in many bands throughout Central Oregon.

Larry was employed by G. J. Construction for over 25 years where his craftsmanship helped create many homes in the Sisters area.

He recently found his love of fishing and spent his free time enjoying the outdoors where his love of drawing was also rekindled.

Larry was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife Linda of Sisters; 3 sons, David Anthony Lewis of Seattle, WA; James Weston Lewis of Sisters; and Kevin Hager of Eugene, OR; his mother, Billie Lewis of Sheridan; one brother, Rick (Pat) of Silverton, OR; 2 sisters, Carol (Skip) Channel of Sheridan, WY; Janet (George) Buszkiewic of Sheridan, WY; his grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life took place in Sisters on Monday, November 23, 2009.

Larry was a loving son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed.
