John James KOLOS 1949 - 2013 SHS 1969

John James Kolos 64 of Sheridan, passed away from a recent fall December 24, 2013 at the Billings Clinic. John was born on October 19, 1949 to Rose Marie Martinek and James Henry Kolos. He attended Holy Name Catholic School and graduated from Sheridan High School.

Through the years, John worked in the surrounding area for various people and ranches. His fondest memories were of the Kobielusz ranch. John then found his life career as a pipeline welder. The pipeline took John many places across the U.S. including the state of Alaska where he worked on the Alaskan Pipeline. John continued to weld until 2011 when he was approached by a close friend to be a supervisor for Lupine Construction.

After meeting the love his life, Nola, John settled down closer to home and the two were wed on June 30, 1984. John and Nola were lifelong partners of 31 years. Working close to home, John and Nola started a family and had two sons, Anthony and Dillon.

John had a real zest for life and many interests including fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening, dancing, and socializing. It was not uncommon for John to walk into an establishment alone, strike up a conversation, and then leave with multiple friends. John also had a very caring personality, always willing to stop and help anyone in need.

John is survived by his two sons, Anthony and Dillon, his 3 sisters Judy, Sandra, and Kathy who he loved to torture and their spouses Mike Brock, John Legerski, Steve Vinot who were more like his brothers. Nieces Kim Costello, Tiffany Brock, Sheena Sibra, Ashley Costello, and Claire and Lucy Sibra. Nephews Stevie Vinot, Shelby Vinot, and Brock Costello. Numerous cousins and longtime friend Dave Silla. John is also survived by his most beloved 4 legged companion, Norma.

John was proceeded in death by his wife Nola, and his parents Jim and Rose Kolos.

A celebration of life will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church Tuesday December 31, 2013 at 10.00am. A reception will follow after the celebration of life at the Holy Name Parish Hall.

The Kolos family would like to thank everyone for thoughts, prayers, well wishes and incredible support. In lieu of flowers, Anthony and Dillon and family have requested all donations be made to the John Kolos memorial in care of Wells Fargo Bank, 424 North Main Street, Sheridan Wyoming, 82801.
