SHERIDAN - A reception in memory of Robert D. "Butch" Affeldt, 51, will be held from 1-3 p.m. Monday at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles Aerie No. 4169.

Cremation has taken place.

He died Dec. 1, 2002, at his residence.

A native of Sheridan, he was born June 16, 1951, to Paul and Patricia (Hughes) Affeldt.  Upon completing high school, he joined the military.  Following discharge, he worked as a handy man for most of his life.  He lived in Ventura, Calif., for some time, moving back to Sheridan seven years ago.

In addition to family, he loved carving, writing and crafts.

Survivors include two sons, Robert S. Affeldt of New Jersey and Robert D. Affeldt Jr. of California; his mother, Patricia Bacon of Sheridan; his father, Paul Affeldt of Ventura; and his brother, Marcus S. Affeldt of Ventura.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Vicki Jean Hall.
