After a hard and courageous 12 year battle with cancer, John passed away at the University Hospital in Denver on August 16, 2015, with his family at his side.

John was born January 3, 1950 to Peggy Ann and William D. Willey. He graduated from Sheridan High School, Sheridan Jr. College and attended the University of Wyoming.

He was a widely respected and successful land surveyor and was in partnership in surveying and engineering businesses in both Sheridan and Denver and later went independent.

He is survived by his wife Dixie, daughters Chelsea (John) Perfitt and Snowden Terrill, grandson Oliver, all of Denver, brother Jim Scott and mother Peggy Corson both of Sheridan.

Private services for family and closest friends were held in Denver on August 28, 2015.
