Ronald Patrick POLL 1950 – 2018 SHS 1968

Ronald Patrick Poll, 67, died at his home Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Yucaipa, California.

He was born March 9, 1950 in Sheridan to Edward and Betty (Dierks) Poll.

A native of Wyoming, Ron moved to California at age 19, living in Southern California the remainder of his life.

His father, Ed Poll had occasion to be with him making a sales presentation of Kenworth trucks. The Service Manager, owner and mechanic, specified the type of truck needed. This was Ron's delight as he went through the type of engine, transmission ratio, to rear axle. This was Ron's specialty. At the completion of the meeting Ron got an order for six trucks. The majority of his career was spent in Truck Sales, and the last twelve years he was Executive Director over the Crime Prevention Program in Southern California.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Betty.

Survivors include his father, Edward Poll of Sheridan; wife, Velda Poll of Yucaipa, CA; children, Heather Carlson of Pasco, WA, Christopher Poll of West Richland, WA, Matthew Poll of Eagle Mountain, UT, Sara Ochs of Yucaipa, CA, Kimberly Wollman of Redlands, CA and Tamara Knutson of West Covina, CA.; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his brother, John Poll of Ohio; and sisters, Jane Hartman of Laramie and Margaret Frost of Cheyenne, WY.

A private viewing was held for family at Weaver Hughes Mortuary on February 21st. Memorial Services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Thursday, February 22, 2018 with Bishop Felix Hernandez officiating.
