OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - January 25 2006

SHERIDAN -- The funeral for Sheridan resident Larry N. Hoyt, 56, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Sheridan by the Rev. David Duprey.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Champion-Ferries Funeral Home of Sheridan and inurnment will be on Saturday, Jan. 28, in Quiet Rest Cemetery near Story.

Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 25, at the funeral home.

He died Jan. 21, 2006, at his home.

Born Nov. 19, 1949, in Sheridan, he was the son of Judith (Frey) and Floyd "Sonny" Hoyt; was raised in the Sheridan area; and attended schools in Story and Holy Name Catholic School. He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1968.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Story and worked for Sheridan Airways.

On Jan. 18, 1974, he married Rhonda Vinke in Story.

He worked for Big Horn Coal until retiring from the mine in 2001; then was employed by Heartland Kubota.

An avid cribbage player, he enjoyed swapping tales, telling jokes, and watching sporting events. He loved collecting and rebuilding Allis Chalmers model C tractors.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years of Sheridan; son, Kelly, of Story; two daughters, Shelly Hoyt of Bremerton, Wash., and Wendy Feagler of San Antonio; his parents of Sheridan; two brothers, David of Leiter and John of San Antonio; sister, Christine Legler of Denver; and five grandchildren.
