Danny Albert "Dan" Grooms, 51, of Bozeman, Mont., died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Dokken-Nelson Sunset Chapel in Bozeman.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Mr. Grooms was born May 26, 1949, in Sheridan to Albert and Dorothy Grooms.

He was raised and educated in Beckton and Sheridan.  He married Barbara Marie Geertz in Sheridan June 8, 1969.

He enjoyed his family, building, mechanics and various activities including snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed his 11 years at the Golden Sunlight Mine in Whitehall, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife and one son, Danny, both of Bozeman; a daughter, Lori Frieling of Mesquite, Nev.; his mother, Dorothy, of Sheridan; a brother, Larry, of Sheridan; three sisters, Linda Codlin of Burlington, Wash., Barbara Hoyt of Leiter, and Teresa Gorzalka of Wyarno; and three grandchildren.
