OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - October 15 2005

CLEARMONT -- A memorial service for Clearmont resident Gordon Wayne Freese, 57, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, in Clearmont High School gymnasium by Pastor Marty Rostad.

He died Oct. 12, 2005, at his home.

Born March 26, 1948, in Sheridan, he was the son of Myrle (Gillaspey) and William Merrill Freese; was raised and educated in Story; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1967.

He went to work for Miles Texaco in Gillette and then was a box boy for Boyd's Supermarket in Gillette. After moving to Buffalo, he was employed by Buckingham Lumber Co.

On April 10, 1969, he married Lottie Ross at the Methodist Church in Buffalo.

He went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad on April 1, 1970, as a track laborer. The couple lived in the Arvada area and moved to Clearmont in 1975. He retired from the railroad in 2003.

An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family. He was a former member of the Clearmont Jaycees; a hunter safety instructor; and a member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years of Clearmont; two sons and their wives, William Wayne Freese of Buffalo and Gordon Wayne Freese of Casper; daughter, Renea Louise Freese of Casper; brother, William Allen Freese of New Mexico; four sisters, Shirley Dowda of Washington, Gene Lusty of Nampa, Idaho, Irene Styles of Omaha, Neb., and Beverly Morgan and her husband of Glenrock; foster son, Ken Korp of Chicago; three grandchildren; and a foster grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
