SHERIDAN - Graveside services for former Sheridan resident Warren B. Sheldon Jr., 53, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sheridan Elks Cemetery, with officers of Elks Lodge No. 520 officiating.

He died April 22, 2001, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

He was born in Sheridan, the son of Warren "Ole'" and Delores "Dee" (LaBurda) Sheldon.  He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1965 and attended Luzerne County Community College in Pennsylvania.

He enlisted in the Army and served two tours in Vietnam.  He received the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Commendation Medal.

He worked as a nursing assistant for the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre until he retired.

Mr. Sheldon was a member of St. John's Russian Orthodox Church, the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #238 and Sheridan Elks Lodge #520.

Survivors include a brother, Dr. Kenneth Sheldon, Rocky Mount, N.C.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorials may benefit the Sheridan Elks Lodge #520.
