Stanley Keith MORGAN 1947 - 2014 SHS 1965

Stanley Keith Morgan, 67, of Sheridan died December 24, 2014, at Sheridan Manor following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Sheridan on March 11, 1947, to Leslie Carlyle Morgan and Evelyn Strand Morgan. He attended schools in Sheridan, graduating in 1965 from Sheridan High School. He was active in school and was the first male cheerleader on the high school squad.

Stanley attended the University of Wyoming, UNO in New Orleans, LA, and graduated from Montana State University at Bozeman, MT, with a degree in English. He also attended art school in New York City.

Stanley was a lifelong rancher and raised Red Angus cattle on the family ranch at Otter, Montana.

He was also an accomplished artist who worked in many mediums with an emphasis on oil painting of Western scenes.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Morgan, and a brother, Wayne Morgan.

Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Morgan, of Sheridan; a brother, Phillip Morgan and sister-in-law Katie Morgan of Laramie; a sister, June Snook and brother-in-law Neil Snook, of Saline, Michigan; a sister, Cindy Ross of Sheridan; wife, Deloris Yellow Eyes Morgan of Ashland, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial is planned for Spring of 2015 with internment of ashes to follow at the family plot in Gillette, Wyoming. Contact family for details.

Memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society to raise awareness of the need to detect and treat cancer at an early stage.
