DAYTON -- A celebration of life for Ina Faye Moriah Lomax, 60, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at Dayton Community Church with the Rev. Dennis Goodin officiating. Interment will be at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Elks section.

She died Jan. 20, 2008, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

She was born on July 13, 1947, in Sheridan, to Aune (Kortez) Dygert and Edwin Ray Dygert.

She was raised on a small ranch along Big Goose with her three older brothers. As a child, she enjoyed riding in her horse and cart, ice skating and playing with the neighbors. With the inspiration of her mother, she was active in 4-H for many years, knitting her own wool sweaters, sewing, leather craft and baking.

She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1965 and later received her degree in elementary education in Billings, Mont., at Eastern Montana College.

In 1968, she met and later married Jim Lomax. They made their home on the Lomax Ranch in Dayton.

She taught for 12 years, her first two years at a country school in Wolf and later Coffeen and Tongue River.

After having her son and daughter she decided to stay home and home school her children. She was involved in W.A.A.T.C.H., a program for Christian children who are being home schooled.

She enjoyed raising chickens and helping move cattle on the mountain. She was a 4-H leader and was a member of the Dayton Community Church for 39 years. She taught Sunday school and was known for her ways of inspiring the kids to learn memory verses and earn Bibles.

She enjoyed traveling in her RV to British Columbia, Canada, Montana, Washington, the Grand Canyon and Thermopolis. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Tongue River Quilt club.

Despite constant pain due to rheumatoid arthritis, she was always known for her smile and light-hearted laughter. Her appreciation for the simple things in life spoke volumes to all who knew her. Almost one year ago, she was grateful to be blessed to see the birth of her grandson.

She is survived by her husband; son, Leo Lomax; daughter, Gina Kelty all of Dayton; brothers, Wayne, Arvo and Roy Dygert; a grandson and many cousins.

Memorials may be sent to Dayton Community Church, PO Box 69, Dayton, WY 82836. ,
