Penny COOPER 1947 - 2012 SHS 1965

Penny Kay Cooper, 65, of Sheridan passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Sheridan Memorial Hospital on Saturday, November 24, 2012.

Penny was born April 26, 1947, in Sheridan to the late Vivian and Nellie Cooper. She graduated from Sheridan High School and Sheridan College, where she was active in local theater and volunteered for the Peace Corps.

Penny married and later gave birth to Travis Kimble and Robyn Kimble, who, along with her grandchildren, Beau and Ruby, have been the joy of her life. Over the years, the family transferred to many parts of the country, living in North Carolina, Virginia, Montana, Hawaii, Washington, Missouri, New Jersey and California. Penny made many close friendships each place she lived, retiring in Sheridan. With her sense of humor and love of people, she enjoyed playing jokes and volunteering her time to help others.

Penny was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Cooper, and her mother and father. She is

survived by her son, Travis Kimble (April) of Corona, California, her daughter, Robyn Kimble of Goodyear, Arizona, her two grandchildren, Beau and Ruby, her siblings, Larry Cooper (Sandi), of Kentucky, and Jackie Warnke, Dixie Will (Steve), Todd Cooper (Anara) as well as many loved nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 30, at the First Christian Church in Sheridan with Pastor Doug Goodwin officiating. A reception will follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church at 102 S. Conner St., Sheridan, WY 82801 or the Sheridan Dog & Cat Shelter at 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
