OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - April 4, 2002

SHERIDAN - Memorial services for Robert Arthur "Jigger" Yager, 55, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Eagles Lodge No. 4196 in Sheridan by Pastor Allen Ziegler.  Friends and family are invited to a fellowship afterward.

He died March 31, 2002, at his home, surrounded by loved ones, after a battle with cancer.

He was born June 15, 1946, in Sheridan, the son of Jesse A. and Orlene (Haworth) Yager; and graduated from Sheridan High School.  He attended Sheridan College.

On May 24, 1971, he married Joann Lopez.  The couple later divorced.

He served a tour of duty in Germany with the U.S. military.

A self-employed carpenter and painter for many years, he was known for his friendliness.

An avid Denver Broncos fan, he enjoyed going on rides with his family; being with friends; and running his dog, Preppa Bell.  He was a member of the American Legion, B.P.O. Elks and Church of the Living God.

Survivors include his friend and former wife of Sheridan; two daughters, Tina C. Yager of Denver and Angel M. Yager of Sheridan; three grandchildren; two sisters, Judith Wilkerson of Jeff City, Mo., and Linda K. Benth of Sheridan; nieces and nephews; longtime companion, Kelly P. Asmussen: and her children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
