Mary V. Miller, 63, of Banner, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, in her home.

Cremation has taken place. At her request, there will be no services. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Born Nov. 14, 1944, in Sheridan to John Anton and Rose Mary (Goryl) Zowada, she grew up in Acme and Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School.

She married Robert G. Miller on April 4, 1964, in Sheridan. They lived on the ranch and owned and operated Miller Cattle Co. on Piney Creek. They retired in 1999 and moved to Murphy Gulch.

She enjoyed gambling in Deadwood, S.D. A published poet, she enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and feeding birds.

Survivors include her husband; daughters Lori Miller of Sheridan and Chris Browning of Gillette; a brother, Paul Zowada of Sheridan; sisters Toni Garretson of Phoenix and Esther Mathews and Rosalie DaBell of Sheridan; and five grandchildren.
