Dorothy A. WARTENSLEBEN Pantle 1945 - 2013 SHS 1963

Dorothy A. Pantle, 68, died December 13, 2013 at her home following a courageous 20-month battle with cancer. She was feisty and maintained her wonderful sense of humor right to the very end.

Dorothy was born on September 13, 1945 in Sheridan to Thomas and Josephine Wartensleben and was raised on the family ranch east of Sheridan. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1963. She went to cosmetology school and worked as a hair dresser for over 43 years. Later she became a cook at the Wyoming Girl's School and retired from that position in July of this year. She said she felt fortunate to have been able to do her two favorite things in life to make a living: cut hair and cook.

She married Ed Pantle in 1966 and they had one son, Tyler.

Dorothy loved life and she lived it to the fullest. She was a fiercely loyal friend to many. She loved to ride her motorcycle, play poker, travel, and watch bull riding. Dorothy worked hard all her life and played even harder. If there was a trip to take or an adventure to be had she was ready to go!

Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, father and brother.

She is survived by her son Tyler (Susan) Pantle and two nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Dorothy will be 11:00am on Wednesday (Dec. 18th) from First United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Derryberry officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. There will be a reception immediately following the service in the church Fellowship Hall.

Memorials to honor Dorothy may be made to the Welch Cancer Center or the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library.
