Shirley Ann Legerski, 60, of Billings, passed away March 15, 2005, at home.

Rosary will be held Friday, March 18, at 7 p.m., at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 19, at 11 a.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will be held Monday, March 21, at Cavalry Cemetery at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Arrangements are with Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary.

Shirley was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Kearney, Neb., to Clifford and Violet (Goff) Rasmussen. She and her family, including her brother, Edward, moved to Sheridan, Wyo., in 1946. Shirley graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Sheridan College for a year and a half.

She met Charles Legerski and they married June 11, 1965. The couple moved from Sheridan to Dayton, Ohio, and then to Casper, Wyo., until finally settling in Billings in 1969. There, they had two daughters, Kathy and Melissa.

Shirley worked at St. John's Nursing Home for four years.

Shirley enjoyed cooking, especially at holidays, and helped out at St. Pius Church for various potlucks and dinners. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, bowling and shopping. She had a fondness for angels and had a deep faith and love of Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Rasmussen in 2001; and her mother, Violet Rasmussen in 1962.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Legerski; two daughters, Kathy Legerski-Wilson and husband Greg Wilson of North Pole, Alaska, and Melissa Legerski-Schneider and husband Bradlee Schneider of Billings; one grandchild, Meghan Elizabeth Schneider; brother Edward Rasmussen of Laramie, Wyo.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
