Faith Annette MCKINNEY Keahey 1945 - 2018 SHS 1963

Our beloved mother, grandmother and spouse, Faith Annette Keahey passed away at her home in Roy, Utah on July 30, 2018 as a result of complications of cancer.

She was born September 1, 1945 in Little Rock, Arkansas to JoAnn Jean Hardin and Kenneth Williams. Later her mother married Warren G. McKinney and they moved to Sheridan, Wyoming where she was raised and baptized a member of The First Christian Church.

Mom worked a variety of jobs that included an enlistment in the Army and running her own decorating business. She volunteered with Girl Scouts, the Humane Society and Billings Crisis center all while living in Billings in the 1970s. In late 1980's she directed and created the Haunted House at Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming. She was an official foster mother to several children and an unofficial parent and grandparent to many more.

In 1987, she graduated from Sheridan College. She was especially proud of this hard-earned achievement.

She was an author of several self-published novels and wrote poetry as well. Mom also enjoyed painting and other media art, reading, music, dancing, camping and at one time was successful in archery competitions. She was also an avid genealogist. She spent many years researching family history for herself and others and eventually gathered thousands of family names.

Mom was a multi-talented, spirited, and loving woman. Her grand-daughter described her "Nana" as a "woman of extremes, untamed and beautiful." We couldn't agree more. When she loved she loved with all she had and many of us were blessed to be the recipient of that love. She spent much of her life rescuing animals and people. We will miss her so very much and look forward to a happy reunion one day when we are all no longer suffering the pains of this earthly life. And if our mother has anything to do with it, it will be one amazing event! May our Lord Jesus Christ watch over her until we meet again.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Norman McKinney and one granddaughter. S

he is survived by her loving spouse of 38 years, Robert E. Keahey and four children from her previous marriages; Elizabeth A. DeGolyer (William) of Ogden, Utah, Calvin D. Garretson (Louella) of Sheridan, Wyoming, Brook W. Garretson (Megan) also of Sheridan, Wyoming and Anthony D. Garretson of Roy, Utah. She is also survived by three stepsons; Jeff E. Keahey (Carol) of Laramie, Wyoming, Eric M. Keahey and Greg S. Keahey both of Phoenix, Arizona. She was a well-loved grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren and a mother and grandmother to countless others who she always welcomed into her family.

Her remains will be cremated and interned at Camp Williams Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial park in Bluffdale, Utah. There will be a memorial service held on September 1, 2018 2pm at First Christian Church Sheridan Wy.
