Sheridan native Joyce Elaine (Achenbach) Conner, 55, of Rapid City died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bill Paepke officiating.  Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Conner was born June 13, 1945, to Urban "Tim" and Thelma (Anthony) Achenbach.  She attended school in Sheridan and lived here until 1970 when she moved to Butte, Mont.  She moved to Rapid City in 1980.

She married Kerry Conner Oct. 28, 1989, in Rapid City.  She was active in the community and loved her dogs, Rusty and Cocoa.

She was a member and past secretary of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a member of the Christian Women's Club, craft clubs and the Quilter's Guild.  She was past president of the Chapel Lane Homeowners Association and a member of the Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, of Rapid City; a daughter, Jodie Remington of Piedmont, S.D.; a stepson,  Kelsey Conner; a brother, Tim Achenbach of Sheridan; and three grandchildren.

Memorials have been established to the American Lung Association and
the Humane Society of the Black Hills.
