OBITUARIES - CASPER STAR-TRIBUNE - November 17 2005

ROCK SPRINGS -- A memorial service for Green River resident Joana Peterson, 62, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, in Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel of Green River. Cremation will have taken place.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service-time.

She died Nov. 12, 2005, at her home, after a sudden illness.

Born Nov. 6, 1943, in Sheridan, she was the daughter of Francis (Johnson) and Steven Takach; was raised and educated there; and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1962.

She had lived in Green River since 1990 and was a member of the Green River Symphony Orchestra.

A gifted musician, she enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her mother of Sheridan; two sons, James R. Peterson III of Vail, Colo., and Robert B. Parry III of Madison, Wis.; daughter, Kiersten Peterson of Milwaukee; four brothers, David Takach of Albuquerque, N.M., Eugene Takach of Bakersfield, Calif., Walter Takach of Albuquerque and Neil Takach of Springdale, Utah; sister, Wauna Lou Paulson of Laurel, Mont.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Rockwell Peterson; her father; and a brother, Patrick Takach.
