Marilyn Kay Thomas, 68, of Sheridan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Marilyn was born on August 25, 1943 to Fred and Louella (Zahradnicek) Reinke. She attended Beckton School and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1962 and went on to graduate from the University of Wyoming in 1985. She taught twenty five years at Big Bend School and Squirrel Creek, Spring Creek and Wyola.

Marilyn married Larry Thomas in 1962. They had three children. They later divorced.

Marilyn enjoyed the Big Goose area, ranch life, shopping, traveling, photography and holidays. She had a great sense of humor and a strong work ethic. She lived her life with elan. She was well known for her kind heart and hospitality.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, Tom.

She is survived by her daughters; Susanne (Brett) Krout and Sheryl (Robert) Barker, and a brother, Roger (Beverly) Reinke. Her grandchildren; Jessica and Jenny Krout, Zachery and Ryan Barker, Jess Thomas and Stanton Harper.

Services for Marilyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Hayden Porter officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with a gathering of family and friends at Marilyn's home to follow.

In leiu of flowers donations may be made to the Hope Lodge at 411 Second Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
