James Emery ROBERTS 1942 - 1976 SHS 1961

James Roberts , 35, a student instructor at the University of Wyoming and a former Sheridanite, died Monday in Laramie.

He was born Nov. 2, 1942 in Sheridan. He attended Sheridan schools and while in high school served as president of the high school rodeo club.

He attended the Air Force Academy and served as a pilot during the Vietnam conflict.

Survivors include two sons, James and Pat, Lusk; his father, Clyde Roberts, Sheridan; two brothers, Clyde, with the Air Force in Germany, and Aaron, Sheridan; his grandmother, Sally Roberts, Fredericksburg, Va.

He was preceded in death by his mother who died in 1957.

The body was taken to Colorado for Cremation. Memorial services will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, at Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Clark officiating.

Memorials may benefit a fund for the Roberts children in care of Rosemarie Madia at the Bank of Commerce or the Sheridan High School Rodeo Club.
