Jeanne Mayer passed away, Aug. 31, 2014, after a 5-year battle with cancer at the Life Care Center in Reno NV over Labor Day weekend.

Jeanne, born Sep. 29, 1943, grew up on various ranches in the Sheridan area with parents Joe and Phyllis Legoski and sisters JoAnne and Lori. She moved to Carson City NV after graduating from the University of Wyoming with a B.A. in Education in 1965.

She met and married John Howard (Jack) Mayer in 1967. Children Shelly and Tony soon followed and she embarked on a well respected, 35+ year teaching career.

Jeanne is survived by her husband, Jack; son Tony and wife Tricia; daughter Shelly and husband Eric (grandchildren Ashley and Brandon); sister Lori and mother Phyllis; nieces Jodi, Bonnie and Tricia (and families); nephews Jason and Cory (and families); extended family members, friends, fellow educators and students too numerous to mention.

There will be a Celebration of Jeanne's Life on Friday, September 19, 2014 in Carson City.
