Bruce Edward Browne, 68, of Sheridan, passed away at his residence on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

Bruce was born on March 1, 1943, to Bruce W. and Wilma D. Browne in Indianapolis, Indiana. He moved to Sheridan in 1953 at the age of ten, where he graduated from Sheridan High School in 1961.

He married Carla Jo Parsons in 1970 and they later divorced. He later married Marie Ross in 1986.

He served in the Army and worked as a conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 33 years until he retired in 2003.

Bruce enjoyed his animals, knitting, camping, playing cards, cribbage, crossword puzzles, suduko, bowling, dartball and collecting railroad memorabilia. He was a member of the American Legion Post #7, a lifetime member of the Elks #520 and was a member and served as the secretary of the Big Horn Mountain Eagles Aries #4169.

Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Marie, his father, Bruce W. Browne, and nephew Jay Browne.

He is survived by his Mother, Wilma Browne of Sheridan, children, Jeff (Cheryl) Parsons of Escondido, CA, Connie (Buns) Bennick, of Sheridan, WY, Angela Browne of Sheridan, WY, Dan (Ally) Ross, of Joplin, MT, brothers, Jerry (Sharon) Browne, of Sheridan, WY, Rick (Sandy) Browne, of Sheridan, WY, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and good friend Carla Browne of Sheridan, WY.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Johnson officiating with Military Honors. A reception will follow the service at 12:00 noon at the Big Horn Mountain Eagles #4169, 1760 Commercial Avenue, Sheridan.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations to honor Bruce be made to the Dog and Cat Shelter, 84 East Ridge Road, Sheridan, WY 82801.
