SHERIDAN -- Services for Jere "Jerry" Noecker, 65, are planned for a later date.

He died Jan. 22, 2007, at his Sheridan home after a long illness.

He was born June 3, 1941, in Rapid City, S.D., to Louis and Shirley (Ritts) Noecker. He moved with his family to Sheridan in 1955.

After finishing school, he worked for a short time on the railroad and then worked for 30 years for Kiewit Construction and Mining.

He married Sheryl Bedell of Kansas in Sheridan in 1986.

Survivors include his wife of Sheridan, three children from a previous marriage to Brenda Stewart, Kelly Noecker and his wife of Sheridan, Lori Hammond and Tina Anders of Virginia; stepchildren, Linda Bennett and her husband, Anna Winterman and her husband and Phyllis Channel, all of Kansas and Charles Channel of Sheridan; a sister, Deanna Matteson and her husband; a brother, Tom Noecker and his wife of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and one great-grandson; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to the Lupus Foundation, 330 S. 7th Ave., Ste. 1701, New York, N.Y., 10001.
