George Lawrence SOLOMAN 1941 - 2017 SHS 1959

George Lawrence Soloman, age 76, of Woodway, TX, died November 29, 2017, at his home.

Born October 15, 1941, in Sheridan, WY, he was the son of the late Lawrence M. Soloman and Viola (Horsley) Soloman, and the youngest of their three children.

He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1959 and went on to receive a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Wyoming. He worked as a pharmacist in Cheyenne and then Casper, WY, where he met and married "Rusty" Joella Starr. They were married August 30, 1966. George and his family lived in Casper, El Paso, TX, and Sioux Falls, SD, before moving to Waco, TX, in 1986. He worked as a pharmacist at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls and then in Waco until his retirement in 2004. He spent his retirement enjoying his garden and playing golf with his friends.

George was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years in 2000.

He is survived by his two children, Tom Soloman of Gilmer, TX, and Starrla (Johnathan) Craig of Allen, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Craig, Rebekah Craig, Elizabeth Craig, Michael Craig, Daniel Craig, and Sierra Soloman; niece, McKinzie Craig Hall; sisters, Gwen Baker, of The Colony, TX, with whom he shared his home for the last several years, and Lila Fodrhonc of Huntley, MT; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted husband and father and always put his family before himself. He will also be missed by many friends, especially his golfing buddies with whom he'd grown close in recent years.

At George's request, no services were held.
